Parent Employability Innovation Fund 2026/27

Supporting innovative ideas to help parents progress into work and reduce child poverty

Introduction

Dumfries and Galloway Local Employability Partnership (LEP) is inviting applications to the Parent Employability Innovation Fund for 2026/27.

The fund has been established to support innovative projects that help parents who are unemployed, economically inactive or on low incomes to move towards, enter, sustain and progress in employment. By supporting parents to increase household income through employment, the fund aims to contribute to wider efforts to reduce child poverty across Dumfries and Galloway.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for organisations with creative, evidence-based ideas that address local need and complement existing employability provision. Projects should demonstrate how they will support parents to overcome barriers to employment while responding to local labour market demand and creating positive outcomes for families.

Applications are welcomed from organisations across the third, public and private sectors, including partnership approaches where appropriate.

Projects should align with the principles of No One Left Behind, providing flexible, person-centered support that is accessible, inclusive and focused on helping parents secure and sustain fair employment.

Priority areas

While applications can support parents across Dumfries and Galloway, proposals should consider:

  • Local evidence of need.
  • The six priority family groups identified within Scotland's child poverty strategy.
  • Opportunities to address barriers to employment and in-work progression.
  • How the proposed activity complements existing services rather than duplicates them.

Key dates

  • Applications open: Monday 20 July 2026
  • Deadline for questions: Monday 3 August 2026 (5.00 pm)
  • Application deadline: Sunday 9 August 2026
  • Estimated award notifications: From Friday 21 August 2026 (subject to the assessment and approval process).

If you have any questions during the application period, please contact [email protected] by 5.00 pm on Monday 3 August 2026. Questions and responses will be managed centrally to ensure all applicants receive consistent information throughout the process.
